Care with welding services on equipment!

After welding the discharge pipe of a centrifugal pump, abnormal noise was reported during the operation of the pump.
Through the inspection technique with vibration analysis, it was possible to identify high energy on the pump, generating high levels of acceleration and speed, making evident the failure caused in the pump bearings due to poor installation of the weld ground, causing a large passage of electric current through the rotating elements and rings.

Due to the large energy generated by the bearing failure, we can see the failure frequencies in the speed weighting, with sidebands already in greater amplitude than the natural one of the defect.
