Centrifugal pump coupling membrane damage caused noisy operation and changes in FFT spectra. Corrective action included replacing the coupling spacer and reviewing and correcting alignment.

API OH2 TYPE CENTRIFUGAL PUMP COUPLING MEMBRANE DAMAGE:
OBSERVATIONS:
· NOISY OPERATION,
· CHANGE IN FFT SPECTRA WITH MULTIPLE HARMONICS,
· NO STEP CHANGE IN VIBRATION OVERALL AMPLITUDE (less than 2.0mm/sec Pk)
· IMPACTS IN TWF
CORRECTIVE ACTION: COUPLING SPACER REPLACED, ALIGNMENT REVIEWED AND CORRECTED.
