Gearbox Gear Defect Problem
A gearbox problem was identified due to abnormal sound and a defect in gear shaft 2. The gearbox was replaced, resolving the issue, but lubrication analysis is pending.
I and Dondi Setiawan found a problem with the gearbox, there is an abnormal sound in the equipment. We try to analyze the problem with the gearbox which has the following specifications :
Speed input : 960rpm
Speed output : 554rpm
(we take speed when checking equipment)
Number of teeth Gear shaft 1 : 26 teeth
Number of teeth Gear shaft 2 : 45 teeth
After visual inspection and vibration, we found a problem with the gearbox, especially on gear shaft 2 which already indicated a defect in the gear. Then we decided to replace the gearbox
After disassembling it, it turned out that there was indeed a defect in the gear as shown in the picture according to the initial suspect from condition monitoring team
After the gearbox was replaced, the gearbox returned to normal. But for now, we still haven't done an analysis in terms of lubrication on the gearbox
