Flender Gearbox Outer Race Failure Case

Outer ring failures were detected in the middle shaft bearings of Flender H2SH reducers at Koza Holding Non-Slip Gold and Koza Gold Corporation Kaymaz Gold mines. The failures were identified using SKF Microlog Analyser measurements and confirmed by bearing fault frequencies and time-waveforms.

Reducer brand and type: Flender H2SH, size 10. Measuring instrument: SKF Microlog Analyser.
As Koza Holding Non-Slip Gold mine, an outer ring failure was detected in the middle shaft bearing of the reducer, which is a member of the Rodmill drive system, and a replacement plan was made before the bearing fell apart and all shaft bearings were replaced.
In the photographs, there are horizontal measurement gE and rms trend values and time-waveform of the faulty bearing from the past to the present. Bearing failure frequencies and time-waveform confirm outer ring failure.

Reducer brand and type: Flender H2SH, size 10. Measurement device: SKF Microlog Analyser.
As Koza Gold Corporation Kaymaz Gold Mine, The reducer which is unit of the Rodmill Drive System had started to show Outer Race Fault on the mid mil.As a result of our daily measurements, I was able to detect the outer race fault before the bearing totally failing down and even breaking. All bearings were replaced with new ones. Here some graphics about horizontal measurements in terms of gE,rms, waveform and some photographs about faulty outer race, rolling element etc. As you can see, bearing fault frequencies matches perfecly with the exact peaks and graphs confirm the Outer Race Fault.
