Predictive maintenance identified a critical issue with the TM-111 conveyor belt diverter drum at a major Iron Ore Carrier. Early detection of a broken fixing bushing prevented catastrophic failure, reducing downtime and potential equipment damage.
In the world of predictive maintenance, every discovery is a win for operational efficiency. I'm excited to share a recent success story where the Predictive team identified a crucial issue at a major Iron Ore Carrier at the Terminal.
🔍 Technical Details: Through vibration analysis, with the time signal spectrum and Shock finder, we identified a worrying gap between the bearing clamping bushing and the shaft of the TM-111 conveyor belt diverter drum. This belt plays a key role in the process, and any unplanned downtime represents a great loss in terms of time and resources.
When we opened the bearing, we identified that the fixing bushing had broken and was "rolling" on the drum shaft.
💡 Significant Impact: Thanks to our early detection and proactive intervention, we were able to avoid a catastrophic system failure. Fixing the issue before it became critical not only reduced downtime but also prevented potential additional equipment damage and production disruptions.
👥 Teamwork: This success would not have been possible without the collaboration and commitment of the entire team involved. From field technicians to data analysts, every person has played a vital role in identifying and solving this problem.
🌟 Importance of Predictive: This case highlights the importance of predictive maintenance in critical industrial environments like ours. Investing in technologies and practices that allow us to anticipate and prevent failures not only saves time and money but also strengthens our ability to maintain efficient and safe operations.
