Motor DE Bearing Failure for Electric Motor

Vibration measurements during commissioning revealed bearing failures in four out of twelve new motors, likely due to improper storage conditions.

Flotation plant during the commissioning phase, 12 new 75 kW electric motors were measured for vibration and 4 of them had bearing failures. When they were disassembled for inspection, bearing marks from waiting were observed.
During the waiting periods of rotating equipment, it is important to move the motor, reducer and bearings at certain intervals and keep them away from environments such as humidity, heat and dust to avoid such bad scenarios
