Fault signals were observed in the bearing on the impeller side of the 355 kW booster pump. The pump was taken into maintenance due to the increase in the pump bearing g value, the inner ring failure spectrum, and the sound increased. When the pump was removed, it was seen that cracks appeared in many parts of the Throat bush in the casing. Bearing failure started due to throat bush damage. Some examples of the report are in the pictures.

Running equipment is always whispering. It is positive to hear the whisper before it turns into a scream, and to take action before the malfunction grows and damages the shaft and casing. Although the bearing failure signals may seem like this pump is more traceable and then taken into maintenance, the sound of the equipment started to change, so the action taken was correct.
