Impacts during Installation Caused Flaking by Indentations
Flaking by indentations, caused by impacts during installation, led to the failure of bearings #6324 and #6322 in a motor monitored by Osvaldo Pérez Flores. Despite early warnings and the presence of BPFO frequencies in the velocity spectrum, the bearings were only replaced recently.
The failure is called flaking by indentations and is caused by impacts during installation. The shocks could have been given when mounting the bearing, the coupling or the fan.
Osvaldo Pérez Flores was monitoring this failure for more than a year and despite having warned from the first signs, for various reasons the replacement of the bearings # 6324 # 6322 of this motor occurred a couple of days ago.
