Motor Shaft Current - Fluting Problem

Motor Shaft Current (Fluting) can damage both motor and counter equipment bearings, as seen in cases where liquid lubrication acted as an insulator, allowing shaft current to travel over the coupling and damage the reducer bearing. Grounding the motor shaft is necessary to prevent this damage.

Do you think Motor Shaft Current (Fluting) only damages motor bearings? As we have seen in the cases we have encountered, it can also cause damage to the counter equipment bearings.
Bearing damage caused by fluting in a metal bearing motor and the gearbox system it drives has been seen in the gearbox input stage bearings. Liquid lubrication acted as an insulator in the motor bearings, and the shaft current traveled over the coupling and damaged the reducer bearing. In order to prevent this situation, a grounding is required over the motor shaft.
