Despite replacing the motor base, bearings, and belts, the unit remained noisy due to severe sheave misalignment and a loose belt caused by an improperly-made motor base.
The motor base, bearings and belts have all been replaced. Why is it still making so much noise? Albeit a bit late, that's where EnVibe came in.
Customer called us out to take a look at their noisy air handler unit. While doing our visual inspection, we noticed severe sheave misalignment. We proceeded to laser align the sheaves, but full correction was impossible based on set-up limitations. Vibration readings were taken after our limited corrections.

EnVibe Analyst ran the machine to test the limited alignment correction and found yet another problem—belts becoming loose as the unit ran due to an improperly-made, overly-flexible base not holding motor correctly. EnVibe recommends replacing both motor and fan sheaves and stiffening the motor base.
Once additional corrections are in place, we recommend a laser alignment and vibration analysis survey to ensure unit is running at acceptable levels.
