Thrust Bearing Raceways Major Defect Case
Vibration analysis detected a major defect on both raceways of a thrust bearing, prompting its replacement.
Before the Summer Stop, one of our customers asks us to analyze critical machines given the possible opportunity to regularize important anomalies.
On one of the vertical turning machining centers, it is decided to intervene for the replacement of a bearing after the result of the last analysis, shown in the images.
On inspection of the disassembled thrust bearing, a major defect is detected on both raceways.
Excellent result that demonstrates the potential of vibration analysis, with despicable results even at low frequencies using our SPM Instrument Leonova Diamonds.
