Gear Mesh Frequency Gear Fault

Gearing frequency (GMF) is present in the spectrum and is associated with the rotation speed of the input shaft and the number of teeth on the pinion. This facilitates diagnosis of bearing and gearbox failures.

GMF.
The frequency of Gearing associated with the rotation speed of the shaft, in this case the input one, by the number of teeth of the conductive or driven pinion is present in the spectrum. The creation of the SET of the failure frequencies in bearings and the GMF for the gearboxes facilitates the diagnosis with the help of the analysis software.
On this occasion, the gearing frequencies in the drying sections of a paper machine are observed. The number of teeth of the conductive and driven pinion is observed in the circular waveform, it is easy to see it since the 1XGMF is the one with the highest amplitude compared to the other harmonics, the most important thing is that the speed of the input shaft or the next shaft (output or intermediate) is correct.
