PeakVue Plus Analytics uses autocorrelation and advanced algorithms to identify the root cause of machine failures, distinguishing between mechanical and non-mechanical issues.

At a general level, machine failures can be categorized as either mechanical or non-mechanical.
Mechanical failures are caused by defects in bearings or gears, and the signals they produce are highly periodic.
In contrast, non-mechanical signals are caused by insufficient lubrication (or poor oil film quality) as an example. The signals arising from insufficient lubrication are not periodic.
A trained analyst uses a technique called "Autocorrelation" to distinguish between these two types of failures.
Similarly, PeakVue Plus Analytics identifies the root cause of the failure in the machine using autocorrelation and a set of advanced algorithms.
