A broken gear tooth fault was found on a PF MILL at Coal Power Station in Queensland Australia 🇦🇺.
The time wave showed repeated impacts and elevated vibration indicative of broken teeth in the GB.
Borescope and more investigations have been carried out and showed cracks and broken teeth as can be seen in the photos below.
The vibration level wasn't very high, and the vibration spectrum just showed a running speed component with harmonics.
TWF is an essential tool in gearbox analysis.
