Bearing Fault Case Study

A low-speed equipment defect with a Timken bearing reached a severe stage, with visible sidebands and impacting at 68 G’s before repairs.

Here is a little share from low speed piece of equipment 311.5 RPM. Bearing was a H936349 Timken. The defect reach a more severe stage while it had to waiting for parts and a schedule to do the repairs.

The Side bands are very visibly. Thought I might share because they can be seen so clearly.

Attached is a higher resolution low Fmax. Velocity spectrum.

Attached is a Envelope spectrum 3.2K LOR, in the envelope you can also see the "FTF" side bands around the "BPFO".

Attached is a time waveform in acc. showing the impacting at "BPFO". This reached an impressive 68 G`s of acc. before part came in for repair.
