Various analysis methods, including vibration analysis, oil particle quantity monitoring, ultrasonic measurement, and temperature monitoring, were used to detect gear failure in a reducer. The equipment was placed under maintenance following the analyses, and the planned shutdown was brought forward to minimize downtime and potential production losses.
