After collecting vibration data, an exponential increase in vibration levels was observed at the input point of the gearbox. After analysis of the collected data, FTF failure peaks of the 6217 input bearing were verified. Due to the high vibration levels and the indications of failure, we requested intervention on the equipment and when disassembling the inlet cover, the failure of the bearing in question was found. Immediate intervention in the equipment avoided the total breakage of the bearing and possible passage of the balls to the other stages of the reducer, which could cause greater damage to the equipment.
