During a routine vibration survey, we detected harmonic vibrations in the 6th order in the inboard bearing of a 56 kW motor. The overall vibration levels were low, but physical noise was slightly elevated. The motor operates under two conditions:

Condition-1: The motor runs for just ½ hour per week, as the plant is in preservation mode.

Condition-2: The motor runs most of the day in regular operation.

Would you recommend replacing the bearing immediately for each condition, or would you wait and continue monitoring? What factors would influence your decision?
Looking forward to hearing your insights!
