1. Healthy Pattern
Appears in a low g’s level and similar peak levels. If the equipment contains high frequency components, we can find contiguous cycles. Otherwise, it looks like sinusoidal signal.
2. Amplitude Modulation / Beating
This pattern may be due to normal operation, such as the case of load between two meshed gears, or due to fault in a rotating components, such as bearing-inner race fault, pump-impeller wear, motor-cracked rotor bar, and else. Also, this pattern looks like beating phenomenon that generates from two close peaks. We can stop the beating if one of these peaks disappeared.
3. Periodic Pulses
If we measure the difference between two pulses, we can identify the frequency of defected component which causes impact force. For example, defected belt and cracked tooth in gearbox.
4. Non-Periodic Pulses
This pattern related to random impacts and non-even distribution for dynamic force around the rotating component. It appears clearly in the case of pump cavitation.
