I am pleased to present an enhanced case study concerning the kiln string (Preheater fan), where a bearing defect in the motor's non-drive end (NDE) was earlier identified. Preventive actions were implemented to address this issue, aiming to extend the equipment's lifespan. The root cause of the failure was determined, and appropriate preventive measures were recommended, including the installation of insulated bearings in the motor to prevent recurrent failures. During the subsequent shutdown, the concerned team successfully replaced the bearing with an insulated one.
