Vibration Analysis – Critical Bearing Failure Indication

Through online monitoring, it was identified, through the trend graph, that the vibration levels of the equipment reached CRITICAL status, registering a value of 9.074 g — a number that exceeds the recommended operating limits, indicating the need for immediate corrective intervention.

The analysis of the 1st vibration spectrum revealed the significant presence of the characteristic frequency of the internal raceway of the bearing (BPFI), with high amplitude, suggesting localized wear in this component.

In the 2nd spectrum, three bands with spectral carpet formation were identified:

280 to 1350 Hz
1500 to 1800 Hz
2150 to 2600 Hz

This pattern is directly related to the deficiency in the lubrication regime, which results in excessive friction between the rolling elements and their raceways. This condition favors the appearance of micro-damage and accelerates the degradation of internal components, being indicative of the third stage of bearing failure, where the damage propagates with greater intensity.
