Drilling Rig Bearing Outer Race Defect Vibration Oil Analysis

Monitoring system, boroscopy, and oil analysis identified a bearing defect in a Sandvik DR-416 drilling rig. Early identification allowed for safe, efficient scheduling of maintenance, reducing costs and restoring optimal operation.

Another success🏆 story in an important piece of equipment for mine operation, Sandvik DR-416 drilling rig! Through the monitoring system used Dynamox sensors, boroscopy technique and oil analysis, we were able to identify a change in behavior in a bearing (6213) PTO input shaft, a symptom of a defect in the outer raceway (BPFO). With the identification of the failure, it was possible to plan and schedule the activity safely and efficiently, avoiding major problems and significantly reducing maintenance costs and ensuring that the equipment returned to optimal operating conditions.
