During the execution of the predictive inspection route, a failure was identified in the bearing located in the LOA bearing of the primary crusher equipment, which operates at low speed, approximately 419 RPM. The spectral analysis showed the presence of a BPFO (Ball Pass Frequency Outer Race) failure, indicating significant deterioration in the outer raceway of the bearing. The condition observed in the component, as illustrated in the attached image, demonstrates that the bearing has reached an advanced state of failure, possibly due to the absence of timely corrective intervention. The case reinforces the importance of predictive maintenance as a fundamental tool for the early detection of failures and for making assertive decisions.
