CRS provided Total Cost of Ownership Services for inspecting a 24rpm slow speed heavy vibration application. After ultrasound inspections and physical inspections, CRS advised the customer to replace a damaged bearing and is currently conducting a Root Cause Failure Analysis to determine the cause of the failure.
Total Cost of Ownership Services is the first of it's kind we have offered to our customer for inspecting a 24rpm slow speed heavy vibration application. First we did a Ultrasound inspections of all 4 bearings in real time running conditions and found 2 bearings showing bearing defect and advised customer for immediate physical inspections of 2 defect identified bearings in our presence.
During physical inspection of 1st defect identified bearing, we found ONE roller was cracked into pieces and was not recommended for further usage and advised customer to replace the bearing.
Now the damaged bearing is removed from the machine and is ready to go for Root Cause Failure Analysis to find the correct reason behind this bearing failure, so that we fix this failure permanently.
RCFA process is ON and by next week I will have the results with corrective action plan.
